On Sunday, January 5th, Epworth celebrated the revealing of the Messiah to the world, which is generally associated with the arrival of the 3 wise men, or Jesus’ baptism. Not only did the service remind the congregation of these events, and their importance to us today, but immediately following the service was a lunch, with the 3 Kings Cake carried in by our own wise men following a star. In what is probably the silliest celebration Epworth holds all year (Shrove Tuesday is a close second), a white elephant gift exchange kept things lively. Things concluded with the de-greening of the church, where all the Advent/Christmas decorations were removed and stored for next year.
