Thirteenth Annual Ice Cream Social is a Hit
September 4, 2014
On Sunday, August 10 Epworth hosted our annual neighborhood ice cram social in the pavilion at Winstead Park— as we have done every year since moving into our present church building. As always the congregation was encouraged to invite their neighbors and family and written invitations were distributed to Epworth's parish neighbors. As always, the response was outstanding.
More than one hundred people enjoyed dishes of ice cream with a variety of toppings ranging the culinary scale from homemade fudge sauce and homegrown blackberries to gummy bears. The weather cooperated perfectly, adding to the relaxed summer feeling as neighbors visited and children played in the park and drove the remote control vehicle provided by a parishioner.
One of our neighbors expressed it perfectly in the thank you note she sent to Epworth: "What a pleasant respite from the busy schedules of summer— and ice cream with multiple toppings as well! Such a fun way to take a break, catch up with old neighbors and meet new ones. Thanks to all of you at Epworth Chapel for making this event possible."
Giving thanks for the day, our fellowship and, of course ice cream!

Plenty of toppings!
And happy faces:
